About

Built on a shoot, not in a boardroom

ScriptLock is built in Hyderabad by Naveen Kumar Davuluri, who is also shooting a Telugu web series. Every feature in it exists because something went wrong on a real production — not because it tested well on a pricing page.

The problem we started from

Writing tools stop at the PDF. Production tools start at the PDF. In between, a production runs on WhatsApp, Excel and a printout. That gap is where scripts leak, where two people shoot two different versions of scene 14, and where money goes missing.

Nobody owns the handoff. That is what this is.

Three decisions we will not reverse

AI that reads, not AI that writes

There is no button that writes a scene, and there will not be one. The moment a tool has one, “did a machine write this” becomes a question on every page of a writer’s script — and that question costs them work. Our AI reads: it suggests breakdown tags, estimates a day, drafts a budget from the breakdown, checks continuity. Every one of those reads. None of them invents.

You own your script. We never train on it.

Not now, not later, not “anonymised”. It is on the signup screen rather than buried in the terms, because that is where it matters.

Free for writers, paid per production

A writer is the only route into a production, so charging a writer to type is charging at the wrong moment. The free tier is a plan, not a trial: three projects, the full editor, every language, PDF and Final Draft export, free for good. A production pays while it is shooting and stops when it wraps.

India-first, global in the architecture

The transliteration, the two-column Indian format, the WhatsApp call sheets and the GST invoices are there because this is where we shoot. The grapheme-cluster subtitle counting, the seventeen UI languages and the A4 page profiles are there because a tool that only works in one place is a tool that stops working the first time somebody co-produces.

What we have not done

No penetration test yet. No SOC 2. No TPN assessment. We will not claim any of them until they have happened, and Security lists the gaps rather than hiding them. If you need one of those before you can sign, tell us and we will tell you the date we can have it.
