Sharing a script safely
One link per person, watermarked, expiring, revocable — and you see who read it.
One link per person
There is no "anyone with the link" share, on purpose. A link is made for one named recipient, and that name is on every page they see. "Share with everybody" is a batch of links, one each.
To make one: open the script → Share → their name and email → how long it lasts → Create.
The link is shown once. We store only a hash of it, so nobody — not support, not you — can read it back later. If it is lost, revoke it and make another.
What they get
- The script in a browser, with no account and no app.
- Their name, email and the time, across every page, and an invisible mark tied to their copy.
- Download, print and copy off unless you turn them on. An artist's or a guest's link can never carry download, whatever you ask for.
Share less than the whole script
| Scope | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Whole document | All of it |
| Selected scenes | Only those scenes, applied as a predicate — not a filter that can be argued with |
| One character | Only the scenes that character speaks in |
| Synopsis only | No pages at all |
A reader cannot comment on a scene their link does not show, so a link to three scenes does not become a way to ask about the rest.
What you see back
Who opened it, when, which pages they reached, how far they got, how long they stayed, and from which country. Not their IP address — a keyed hash of it, which tells two readers apart without storing where they are.
When something goes wrong
The kill switch: one action turns off every link in the production. Each reader gets a plain "this was turned off", not an error. Use it the moment a page turns up somewhere it should not, then make fresh links.
What a watermark can and cannot do is set out in Watermarks, including the parts that are not reassuring.
Wrong, or missing something? hello@scriptlock.app and say which page.
