Sides
Two different documents share a name, and confusing them hands an artist the whole script.
Two kinds
Shooting sides — one day's pages, in shooting order, for one person. The AD's document. It carries the scenes being shot that day and nothing else, with its own page numbering so "page 3 of today" means something.
Audition sides — an excerpt for a casting read. One character's scenes, with the other parts' lines kept, because a reader needs something to act against. Nothing from scenes the character is not in.
Both keep the original scene numbers. A side whose scene numbers do not match the AD's schedule is worse than no side.
What an artist sees
An artist signs in and sees their own sides for the day they are called: their scenes, their lines, watermarked with their name. Not the script. Not a download — an artist's link can never carry one, and no setting changes that.
If they are in nothing on that day, it says so in those words rather than showing an empty page.
Making them
Open the day → Sides → per person, or one set for the unit. Anything before the first scene heading — a title page, a cold-open note — never reaches a side.
On a phone, with no signal
Sides and call sheets are cached on the device. An AD on a hill with one bar opens today's pages, and the notes they write sync when there is signal.
