Writing in your own language

Type in English letters, get Telugu. Ten format profiles, Letter and A4.

Transliteration

Type nenu vastunnanu and get నేను వస్తున్నాను. It works for Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, and you can switch mid-line — a scene heading in English and the dialogue in Telugu is the normal case, not the exception.

  • The toggle is in the editor's status bar, and Ctrl/Cmd + Space switches it.
  • A word it gets wrong can be corrected once and it remembers, per project. Names are the usual culprit.
  • Tell us what it gets wrong. Ten minutes of a native speaker's corrections is worth more than a month of our guessing.

Format profiles

A screenplay's layout is a convention, and the convention is not the same everywhere. ScriptLock ships ten profiles — US Letter Hollywood, A4 UK, and the Indian two-column among them — and a project picks one.

Changing the profile re-paginates; it does not change a word. If the project is locked, the page numbers stay where they were and the change shows up as revised pages.

Letter and A4

Both, properly. A4 is not Letter with different margins: it takes its extra height in the margins and the difference comes from the narrower column. The page-count difference between the two is about 2% — and ScriptLock measures it for your script rather than printing a constant, because it depends on how you write.

What the editor will not do

It will not write for you. There is no "continue this scene" button and there will not be one. What the AI does lists every AI action in the product; all of them read.
